Lateral Thinking: The Coast Guard ship pulled over next to the drifting boat from which K (Nave) was frantically waving. The sun was beating down as a hot and perspiring K (Nave) jumped aboard the coast guard ship and began begging for water. After downing several glasses, K (Nave) recounted the last several days.
"Shaggy and I were out fishing six days ago when both our engine and radio broke down. . Three days ago we ran out of water and Shaggy began drinking seawater and went crazy. While going below deck, he fell down the ladder, hit his head and killed himself." Simms examined the body and confirmed that Shaggy had died from a head wound. Simms turned to K (Nave) and said, "Based on your account, I believe you murdered Shaggy." What lead Simms to suspect K (Nave's) statement?
