Recap:
In our 8th grade classes we reviewed how to use the periodic table in our discussion of the elements. I pointed out that there is a staircase dark line on the periodic table that begins between Boron and Aluminium. Any element touching that line, except Aluminium, is a Metalloid- elements that have the characteristics of both metal and non- metals. I also pointedout that the metals fall to the left of the metalloids , (except for hydrogen) and the non- metals fall to the right.
I pointed out the physical properties of the elements and the chemical properties.
Periods 1 &2 were given homework which is due today.
7th grade turned in their Secret Universe homework and then we began covering the Characteristics of life. We got as far as asexual reproduction.
5th & 6th period took FCA #2
