Recap:
We're well underway in our science classes finishing up this unit lab on the Scientific Process and students were floored by how complicated it is to make the perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Over the weekend students were given time to revise their process with correct steps. We will use today to finish up the lab, talk about precision and accuracy in preparation for the unit exam.
In Language Arts we took our vocabulary quiz and then started discussing the Main Idea and author's purpose. We will finish that today.
Parents, be aware that we have begun pulling students with D's or F's to Power Hour at the behest of Lt. Col. Boggs. We were going to wait and start at the opening of the second nine weeks, but he asked if we could start sooner.

Unit Essential Question: What does a good writing sample look like?
Key Learning Statement: Writers structure their writing into several key steps to produce a good writing sample. While these steps are not always needed, it is best for beginning or aspiring writers to practice them to improve their writing ability. Those steps are brainstorming, outlining, pre writing (or rough drafting), peer editing, polishing and revising, and final editing.
