Today's Quote:
Recap:
6th: 6th graders watched an introductory video about how scientists identify a mystery and systematically follow the evidence around the planet to answer it. This was in place of our solar lab since I had an in-service to attend.
7th: Began the unit on the musculoskeletal system by learning how incredible the human body actually is and what it is capable of.
8th: One section of 8th grade finished the FCA while the other debriefed the FCA and then began our next section on how to determine valence electrons and determine bonding.
Brain Bender:
There is a single word in the English language in which the first two letters signify a male, the first three letters signify a female, the first four signify a great man, and the whole word, a great woman. What is the word?
Agenda:
(This should be written in your planner every day)
6th grade, Finish solar input lab
Solar Input, a Limit To Growth Part 2
7th- The Skeletal System
8th- FCA and balancing chemical equations.
Finding the Valence electrons in Transition metals

Weather and Atmosphere:
Unit Essential Question: How do the relationships among the five spheres affect life on Earth
How do the relationships among the five spheres affect life on Earth?
Key Learning Statement: The atmosphere is layered and within these layers are weather patterns that affect life and are caused by interactions among spheres. Water is constantly being recycled through the spheres. Heat transfer affects the development of weather.

Cell Structure and Function
Unit Essential Question: How has technology enhanced our understanding of cells?
Key Learning Statement: As microscope technology advances, scientists understanding of cells is changing. Scientists continue to grow in their understanding of how a cell's structure and function are related to help maintain homeostasis.
