RECAP:
In Biology 1 yesterday we continued our discussion of plant structure and anatomy. Students already knew that flowering plants are called Angiosperms, and they correctly identified the parts of a seed as well as the difference between monocots and dicots. We went a little further breaking plant tissues down into three categories and describing them. We then went out into the garden to observer the plants we have while students began identifying them.
Intensive reading students turned in their reading comprehension packet and were given the chapter over verbs and predicates. We will go over that in class today since it's due.
Earth Space science has been going over our sun and the stars and should be working on their quizlet- Our Sun as well. It is due today and 5 activities need to be completed successfully.
Entry Task/ Brain Bender:
Professor Quantum is conducting an experiment on his pet pigeon. A female pigeon cannot lay an egg if she is alone. In order for her ovaries to function, the female must be able to see another pigeon. Professor Quantum insists that he can get his pigeon to lay eggs without another pigeon being around. How can he accomplish this?

the yearly list of prefixes, roots, and suffixes.
Unit Essential Question: How are plant organs related to their functions?
How do organisms use energy?
Key Learning Statement: In autotrophs, photosynthesis transforms sunlight into food energy; cellular respiration releases the energy. Heterotrophic organisms process food energy either through cellular respiration or fermentation. Both processes produce usable energy in the form of ATP.
