Today's Lateral Thinking question:

Today's Class:

Before we jump into what we are doing today I went over the group grade form which is a large part of lab grades. I showed the classes just exactly how they are being scored. Additionally we placed labels on the edge of our COWS because it is difficult to see who they belong to.

Today's homework:

All students should begin studying the vocabulary words located at the quizlet link above. Read through Invitation 13 The idea of hypothesis and write down your responses on the paper making certain to follow the rules for making a good hypothesis (If/Then, Testable, Replicable.) Due Wednesday

Questions for discussion:

Why does the scientific methods help when trying to solve a problem?.

Key points: Be able to explain the difference between a hypothesis, theory and law.

Be able to discuss how these three things are similar.

Give examples of the scientific inquiry process in action ad how hypotheses move to the theory stage and ultimately the law stage.

PM Update:

Students labeled their COWS today so it is easier to find them and I collected the corrected tests and entered those grades in the gradebook. PLEASE do not waste my time by turning in an uncorrected test. I recheck them all ,and that adds about 45 minutes to my work day. Only turn your test in if it has been COMPLETELY CORRECTED.
