Today in Class: Students set up their COW for the upcoming Murder Investigation. I gave them the title, question and we developed a working hypothesis. I briefly explained what mini labs we would perform beginning tomorrow as they get their first look at the crime scene.

Students with a failing grade will complete book work while the rest perform the lab. Parents PLEASE encourage your child to complete their work. I cannot afford to waste resources on students who want to do all the fun things, but never follow through with the work phase. Book work will be graded and entered into the grades in place of the lab. It does not count as much as a lab, but it will help raise grades if it is completed to the best of their ability.

TIPS was assigned for this week and was reading a line graph. This has a slightly different format than the other TIPS and was given because 94% of the students are having difficulty just interpreting a graph.

In preparation for the crime scene investigation, students should read the following articles to understand what each forensic test will show.

Basics of paper chromotography

What is Ph and the Ph scale

What is a DNA fingerprint

What is a finger print

Developing a finger print VIDEO DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME! TIPS TIme working
