Monday October 5th, 2015

Today's Quote:

"It is our task to imprint this temporary, perishable Earth into ourselves so deeply and passionately, that its essence can rise again, invisibly, inside of us. We are the bees of the invisible, we wildly collect the honey of the visible, to store it in the great golden hive of the invisible."

Recap:

I went over how students should redo their Hypothesis and the Environment which is due today only, for 10 points more.

Following that, students spent the remainder of the period pairs reading the article on Theories, Laws and Hypotheses. After about 20 minutes of time highlighting, underlining and discussing the article students were broken into teams to answer the 5 questions from the article.

I reminded students that their nine week project is due and we will do it as a class activity this week. I suggested they read The Minneapolis Bridge Failure Case Study from their textbook in preparation for the project.

I also pointed out that they would have a quiz over this unit on Monday and the quiz was posted online Friday for them to review.

We left class with a reminder about watching the two videos , one on Repetition VS replication and the other on Precision VS accuracy for homework. There is NO Google form for these videos but be prepared to discuss them on Monday.

Today in Class:

Essential Question: Are we speaking the same language when we use terms like repetition, replication, precision and accuracy?

Students lead a discussion over Repetition and replication and the Article.

Quiz:  Periods 1,2,3,4   Periods 5,6

Homework:

Complete the Peanut observation lab to turn in tomorrow.

Be certain to read the Minneapolis Bridge Failure Case Study. Complete the Google Form over the article. Due Wednesday
